The metropolitan district and the capital of the Republic of Ecuador, is among the contemporary and colonial.

It is called the Equatorial Monument because the square-pyramidal shape with four monoliths in the corners, this is the geographical address of the four cardinal points, and one is located on the equator in degrees zero minutes, zero seconds latitude and zero.
